Porter Becomes India’s Second Unicorn of 2025 with $200 Million Fundraise

Porter, a leading on-demand logistics platform, has ascended to unicorn status after securing $200 million in a Series F funding round. The investment, led by Kedaara Capital and Wellington Management, values the company at approximately $1.1 to $1.2 billion. This milestone positions Porter as India’s second unicorn of 2025, following AI-powered fleet safety startup Netradyne.

Strategic Expansion Plans

Founded in 2014, Porter specializes in intra-city and inter-city logistics, offering services like on-demand trucks, two-wheelers, enterprise logistics, and packers and movers. Currently operating in 22 Indian cities and two overseas markets, the company serves over 3 million customers and collaborates with about 300,000 gig workers monthly.

The fresh capital infusion will enable Porter to expand into additional Indian cities, enhance its technological infrastructure, and develop systems to support over 1 million gig workers. Co-founder and CEO Uttam Digga emphasized the company’s commitment to building efficient and inclusive logistics systems, stating, “This funding gives us momentum to scale sustainable solutions and empower the communities we serve.”

Investor Confidence

Investors have expressed strong confidence in Porter’s asset-light, tech-first model. Anant Gupta and Ashutosh Sardesai of Kedaara Capital highlighted the company’s ability to deliver reliable logistics solutions at scale in an unorganized and underserved market. Prakhar Singh of Wellington Management noted that Porter’s platform plays a critical role in driving efficiency for MSMEs and gig workers.

Market Impact

Porter’s achievement comes amid a cautious funding environment, with only two unicorns emerging in India so far in 2025. The company’s success underscores the potential for tech-driven solutions in the logistics sector, particularly those that support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and gig economy workers.

With this significant funding round, Porter is poised to further solidify its position in the logistics industry, driving innovation and inclusivity in urban mobility solutions.
